Time to spice things up! As with most smoothie recipes, this one is easy like Sunday morning. Chai spices have long been known for their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and digestive properties. Antioxidant-Rich Raspberry Lemonade Smoothie
Pucker up! If you like the sweetness of raspberries and the tang of sour lemon, you will love this smoothie. It truly tastes like my son's favorite candy, Sour Patch Kids (the red one!) but has none of the bad stuff and a ton of health benefits.
Both lemons & raspberries are a rich source of antioxidants & high in vitamin C, which supports a strong immune system by fighting free radicals. They also help you maintain a healthy complexion by producing collagen. We gave our smoothie an extra boost by adding a scoop of Nanoreds Fruit & Vegetable Superfood, which is formulated with the antioxidant/phytonutrient power of up to 10 servings of fruit and vegetables!
Another plus: This smoothie is loaded with fiber. Eating foods high in fiber stabilizes blood sugar levels and can help manage diabetes. The insoluble fiber supports proper digestion and the soluble fiber lowers blood cholesterol levels. Add to that minerals like magnese, vitamin B, folate, iron and potassium.. and you have yourself a sweet & sour super smoothie!
Raspberry Lemonade Smoothie:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups frozen Raspberries
- 1 cup organic fresh Lemonade
- 1 cup filtered Water
- 1 scoop Nanoreds Fruit & Vegetable Superood
- 1 fresh squeezed Lemon
- 1 cup Ice
Blend all ingredients and enjoy!

If You Like Pina Coladas.. Try our Nanomega Smoothie!
Warning: May cause extreme happiness!
Did you know essential fatty acids are the most important supplement you can take? Our brains need good fats to be healthy.. and of all of our body parts, our brain is most in need of high-quality fats. In fact, the brain is made up of 60% fat, mostly an Omega-3 fat called DHA. Its job is to support cellular communication and when we have what we need, it produces happiness while increasing learning and memory skills. If our brains are deficient in Omega-3’s we can experience depression, anxiety and bi-polar disorder. Not surprisingly, Americans are deficient in Omega-3’s. Some reports indicate that 95% of us lack enough Omega-3’s to support our brains!
We NEED Omega-3’s - that’s understandable. But many of us don’t like the fishy, oily, pill-form that is widely available. Nanomega Superfood is an all-organic, vegan, pineapple-orange flavored powder that you can add to your smoothies. If Omega-3’s cause happiness, the flavor in this Pina Colada Smoothie recipe will send you into tropical-island-vacation mode! It’s pure bliss!
Here’s what you will find in one scoop of Nanomega Superfood:
- 1000 mg Omega-3 ALA
- 100 mg vegan DHA
- 2.5 grams of Fiber
- 5 grams of Flaxseed
- Vitamins B6, B9 & B12
- Vegan, Non-GMO, Organic ingredients
- Amazing flavor
Nanomega Pina Colada Smoothie:
Ingredients:
1 cup frozen Pineapple
1 cup unsweetened Coconut milk
1 ripe Banana
1 scoop Nanomega Superfood
2 tbsp. shredded Coconut
Blend Ingredients in a high-speed blender.
How’s that for a superfood? Get happy friends!

Chill Out! Ayurvedic Foods to Keep You Cool
Last week was a doozy in So-Cal. With temperatures in the high 80's, we were wondering if Spring had been skipped-over this year and we were headed directly into Summer! Have you noticed that everyone gets short tempered and more irritated as soon as the temperature start to rise? People become impatient, aggravated, and... sweaty. In Ayurveda, they call this heat-aggravated Pitta.
Pitta is one of the Ayurvedic Doshas. Hot,
fiery, intense and strong, it can send emotions through the roof and
create moodiness, aggression and hot-tempers. Other signs of aggravated
Pitta are impatience, heartburn, acid reflux, stomach ulcers, lethargy, skin rashes, acne, low
blood sugar and difficulty falling asleep.
To balance fiery Pitta and to stay cool, Ayurveda recommends adding cooling foods to your diet:
- Eat more foods that are sweet, bitter and cooling such as salads, smoothies and fresh fruit.
- Refrain from eating food that is spicy, sour, salty or hot. Avoid hot peppers & fermented foods.
- Add dark greens, cilantro, broccoli, cabbage, celery, mint, cucumber summer squash
- Sip coconut water or add cucumber slices to water.
- Enjoy fresh ripe berries, melons, apples, apricots, grapes, peaches, pears and ripe plums.
- 1 cup Honeydew Melon, cubed
- 2 tbsp. fresh Mint
- 1 cup Coconut Water
- 1/2 cup Cucumber slices
- 1/2 of Lime, juiced
- 1 cup Ice Cubes
Blend all ingredient in a high-speed blender & enjoy!

Thyme herb contains thymol, one of the important essential oils. Thymol has been found scientifically to have antiseptic and anti-fungal characteristics. And get this: scientists at Leeds Metropolitan University in England tested the effects of thyme on sufferers of acne, and found that ingesting thymol may be more effective than using acne creams!
We are all for natural remedies. Especially when they taste as good as this:
Lemon & Thyme Blueberry Smoothie:

1 small Banana
1 cup frozen Blueberries
1/2 tsp. fresh Thyme, minced

Superfood Spotlight: Matcha
Matcha is one of the top must-have superfoods because it is simply amazing! Matcha is a type of green tea that originated in Japan, where it is still used as a traditional daily practice. It isn’t your average cup of green tea though. Matcha is especially rich in chlorophyll since it never goes through heat during processing. It’s made from the same plant as green tea, but is treated in a different way. It has a buttery, slightly earthy, mildly sweet taste that is incredibly soothing.
Matcha is an antioxidant powerhouse, energy booster & stress reducer. It boosts metabolism, detoxifies, increases endurance, improves memory, & aids in lowering cholesterol.
Try this SUPER amazing Superfood smoothie & get to know Matcha if you haven't already!
The Green Matcha Monster:
1 cup spinach
1 tbsp. matcha powder
1/2 cup chopped cucumber
1/2 cup chopped kiwi
1 cup almond milk
1 scoop Nanogreens (green apple flavor)
Ice for blending
Our smoothie is topped with chia & hemp seeds for an added Superfood boost!
Cheers!

9 Morning Rituals To Start Your Day
Want to have more energy throughout your day and feel great? Here are 9 simple rituals that you can do before 9 am to boost your metabolism and keep you energized all day long!
1. Wake up earlier
You’re going to need some extra time in order to fit a fantastic morning in! Wake up at least an hour and a half before you need to head out the door. The difference between enduring your morning and enjoying your morning starts here.
2. You snooze you lose
Research says that hitting snooze prolongs feeling groggy because it re-starts your sleep cycle. Instead of hitting the snooze button, turn off the alarm and sit up in bed. Breathe, feel your heartbeat, and say yes to the day!
3. Drink warm water with lemon
In addition to boosting immunity, clearing skin and balancing your pH, warm lemon water helps stimulate your digestive system in the best possible way. When you wake up in the morning, your body has gone 6-8 hours without water. This will speed up your metabolism throughout the entire day.
4. Have two eggs, any style
Don’t skip breakfast. Starting your day with a protein-rich breakfast boosts metabolism and helps you stay fuller longer. Cook your eggs in coconut oil to keep them healthy, scramble them with fresh chopped veggies, make an omelet, or take them over-easy. Endless possibilities, so keep it fresh!
5. Drink your greens
No matter if you are good at getting whole foods into your diet or not, we all need extra nutrients from a vegetable supplement to keep our bodies healthy. But some of us.. okay, MOST of us don't have time to juice with our hectic morning routines. The solution is Nanogreens! Nanogreens superfood is the easiest and quickest way to get your daily dose of vegetables & fruits. This green powder supplement is truly a powerhouse of nutrition and wellness, made easy.
6. Pack a healthy snack for later
Remember, when we get hangry we reach for the nearest snack.. so make sure the nearest snack is a healthy option and keep it close - in your bag, at your desk, in your car...wherever you can reach it! Try fruit, nuts, veggies, or a combination of all three. When you choose healthy options, you are free to eat as much as you want so stock up!
7. Fill your water bottle
Staying hydrated is key if you want to keep your metabolism humming along. Take your weight and divide it by two. Drink that amount of water in ounces each day. Simple right? Drink up!
8. Meditate
Give yourself 10 minutes before leaving the house to regroup and set an intention for your day. Sit quietly. Be still. As your mind races, focus in on your thoughts. Your thoughts become your intentions and your intentions become your actions. At the end of the day, what would you like to have accomplished? Begin with the end in mind.
9. Smile
Look at yourself in the mirror and smile. You’ve got this, and today is going to be a good day!
